Frequently asked questions
How should I read this barometer?
Every product in the catalogue has a “from” price: the unit price ex. VAT of its cheapest variant, at the first quantity tier. The barometer aggregates these prices by product family (1629 products, 17 families as of 2 October 2026). The median is more meaningful than the average: half of the products in the family cost less than it.
Are the prices ex. VAT or inc. VAT, and do they include branding?
The barometer's prices are ex. VAT (VAT at 20% in addition) and cover the product alone, before customisation. The techniques table gives the branding cost per piece for 100 pieces, margin included and excluding any technical fees. On every product page, the configurator shows the exact all-inclusive price for your quantity.
Why does the branding cost vary so much by technique?
Each technique has its own economics: pad printing or one-colour screen printing are inexpensive per unit as soon as the run absorbs the set-up; laser engraving and embroidery need more machine time per piece and therefore remain dearer, even in large quantities. In this catalogue, pad printing (median €1.53 ex. VAT/piece at 100 pieces) is the most economical and ceramic firing (low temperature) (€7.64 ex. VAT/piece) the most expensive.
What quantity do I need to order to get these prices?
“From” prices correspond to the first tier of each product; every product can be ordered from 1 piece, with no imposed minimum, and the unit price then falls by tier (25, 50, 100, 250, 500…). The branding cost shown here is calculated for 100 pieces; at 1 piece it is markedly higher (fixed set-up fees), at 500 pieces lower.
How often is the barometer updated, and can I cite it?
It is recalculated automatically every day from the Wegoodie catalogue (last calculation: 2 October 2026). You may cite it freely, crediting the source “Wegoodie custom promotional product price barometer” with a link to this page.
